I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!
Our first assignment was to tell about the difference between traditional web pages and blogs. From my perspective I believe traditional web pages are more of a one-way street. They tell information from the designer of the page. Blogs I feel are a more personal way to give information, thoughts, and opinions. Like a web-page they can have links, but they can also have responses made to them. As an internet user I have seen many web pages, but blogging is new to me. Another difference I see is the fact that you can limit who can see and comment to your blog. Due to this fact, I can already think of some ways this could be used in the classroom.

Nice, Suzy! I had not yet considered the convenient privacy aspect of blogging! These past few days I have sort of been considering it a pain to have to "link up' to everyone's blog. But you're right-- it does provide a nice feeling of security knowing you can control who sees your content. I enjoy posting pictures, but I am always really paranoid about putting up photos of my family and son, etc. I guess I can do that in my blog and not have to worry!
Hi Suzy, I love your background and layout! What a happy, summery site! I too have been comforted by the fact that we can have controls on our sites, though this advantage seems to have me messing things up on my page. I hope I have things open so our group can comment.
Blogging is new to me, as well. As you noted, I think there can be some great ways to use this type of communication in class and with class work.
Suzy,
The layout of your site is great! I love the sun at the top - it makes me feel very welcomed to your blog. The analogy of the traditional website being a one-way street is great. it definitely seems to be true that traditional websites are reporting information only in one direction, whereas blogs can give information to the reader as well as receive information from the reader. Great job setting things up!
